Wednesday 19th
Prior to the start gusts of upto 37 knots came down
Southampton Water. 4 boats turned out with John Harding in
Vanity getting a well crafted port start to head the fleet
on the beat to Hamble point. Vanity held her lead down the
run and reach and then headed for the finish. Kathleen was
in pursuit. Close taking up the beach eventually worked out
for 124. Similarly X180 and X150 had a close dual.

Saturday B Series
Saturday 22nd October
Good to see 9 boats out with John Harding in charge and Tim
( with slipped disc ) watching expectantly from the shore.
Respectable breeze with those starting early at the gate
boat gaining an advantage. The fleet split into two groups
with the front four changing places and good competition
behind. The bright sun made for interesting visibility.
Eventually Simon Russell won comfortably ably assisted by
Eliot. Good to see both X166 & X144 on the water. Much
discussion in the bar afterwards.
