Lovely evening sail with interesting racing as we started with the last of the ebb and came home on the beginnings of the flood, which was fortunate as the wind died at the end. Calypso had the best start but those that headed for the Calshot shore fared best. Kathleen got away from the fleet when the flood tide on the last windward mark was under estimated by Nanette, Mischief and Calypso who all had to have two bites at the cherry to get round.
It was quite beautiful coming up the river silently on the tide with Fawley lit up with twinkling lights and silhouetted against an orange, red and pink sky.
