X82 Magic Dragon DNF

A cold overcast evening with a good breeze and some interesting racing! Magic Dragon having been in the lead around the penultimate mark misunderstood the course and sailed off to the wrong mark and then having realised her mistake, compounded the error by sailing the wrong side of the finishing line leaving Sox to take the honours.
It was nice to see Edward Fitzgerald, Dux's co-owner, out on the water.

The start seemed quite crowded as boats arrived early. Once
at Cutter there were three upwind legs to Stormforce and two
runs back down. X82 was in the lead at the 3rd upwind leg
and then headed for Cutter. The following fleet headed for
Coronation and on to the finish. X124 failed to carry her
spinnaker on the final leg and got overhauled by X157.
Astern X47 and X82 were in a dual approaching the finish.
X47 sneeked through the line but was disqualified for being
ocs at the start, whilst X82 found herself on the wrong side
of the finish line and thereby dnf. That left X10 third
followed by X21,X159 and X150. Much discussion ensued ashore
lasting throughout the week.

Wednesday 22nd June
Three boats over at the start let X90 get away on a beat to
Mark. Those that went left did better. X90 lead around the
top mark followed by X124 and X157. By the bottom mark the
top three were in closer order. By the finish X124 and X157
had overhauled X90 who held off X47 to come in third. Thus
father and son had a close encounter racing to the finish.
X118 came in 5th.
